A Play

Set in 1930's Appalachia,
"Hating Jesus" tells the story of a crestfallen
woman's impoverished struggle to raise her nephews and rediscover gentility in
the wake of a grisly past. Trapped in a world of disillusionment, denial and
grief, she threatens the virtue of an inexperienced priest whose promises of
redemption seem hollow against her violent perspective. Their worlds are
forever altered, as priest becomes parishioner and the secrets of a little boy
turn religion on its end.
